킨텍스에서 6월 9일부터 12일까지 나흘간 개최된 ‘월드푸드테크 컨펙스 2026(WFT26 ConfEx)’은
전 세계 푸드테크 산업의 미래 트렌드를 한눈에 조망하고 민간 주도의 창발적 산업 생태계를 제시하며 성황리에 막을 내렸습니다.
강금실 월드푸드테크협의회 WFT26 공동조직위원장, 최태원 대한상공회의소 회장(SK그룹 회장)이 환영사를 시작으로,
조정식 국회의장, 김민석 국무총리, 김종구 농림축산식품부 차관, 박지원 국회의원, 조경태 국회의원이 축사를 이었습니다.
세계최초의 WFT26 컨펙스는 규모와 전문성 면에서 전 세계 푸드테크 업계의 이목을 집중시켰습니다.
글로벌 리더들이 참여하는 20여 개 세션과 국내 산업·공공·학계·기업이 주도하는 80여 개 세션 등 총 100여 개 세션이 진행되었으며,
전세계 푸드테크 분야 전문가 500여 명이 발표자와 토론자로 참여해 심도 있는 논의를 펼쳤습니다.
더 트리니티는 WFT26 ConfEx의 푸드테크의 미래 비전을 현대미술과 문화적 환대의 언어로 확장하기 위해 아트 호스피탈리티를 기반으로 특별 전시와 오찬,
공간 연출을 하나의 문화적 경험으로 구성하며, 포럼의 비전과 예술적 메시지를 유기적으로 연결했습니다.
행사 키비주얼인 ‘창발선’은 겉과 속이 이어져 끊임없이 순환하는 뫼비우스의 구조에서 출발한 시각 언어로,
자연의 순환 질서와 인류 먹거리의 긍정적 미래를 위한 연대를 상징합니다.
사람을 의미하는 레드, 음식을 의미하는 그린, 미래를 의미하는 블루는 전시 공간과 특별 작품,
오찬 구성, 보자기 굿즈 전반에 적용돼 행사의 핵심 메시지를 하나의 미학적 경험으로 통합했습니다.
특별 전시에는 2017년 제57회 베니스 비엔날레 한국관 대표 작가로 참여한 현대미술가 이완의 설치작품 ‘깨어난 사물 – Ingredient Cargo’가 소개됐습니다.
이완은 세계화, 자본주의, 정치·문화적 시스템이 개인의 삶과 집단적 정체성에 미치는 영향을 탐구해 온 작가로,
식품과 공산품의 생산·유통·소비 구조 이면에 존재하는 노동과 자원의 관계를 추적해 왔습니다.
‘깨어난 사물’ 시리즈는 인공지능 출현 이후 사물이 네트워크를 통해 인간과 감각적으로 소통할 수 있는 시대가 시작되었음을 전제로 합니다.
이번 포럼에 출품된 ‘Ingredient Cargo’는 식재료를 운반하는 화물 박스를 모티브로 한 설치작품으로,
박스 위에 자리한 눈들이 관람객의 발걸음과 시선을 따라 움직이는 듯한 낯선 장면을 만듭니다.
어디에 있든 사물들이 인간과 눈을 마주치는 이 경험은, 사물이 더 이상 소유와 통제의 대상에 머무르지 않고 관계의 주체로 이동하는 새로운 감각을 제안합니다.
이번 전시에서는 작품을 WFT26 ConfEx의 키비주얼인 ‘창발선’ 위에 배치해,
자연과 음식이 인간의 필요에 의해 소모되는 자원이 아니라 함께 미래를 구성하는 공생의 주체라는 메시지를 시각적으로 드러냈습니다.
식재료 화물로 탄생한 ‘깨어난 사물’들은 인류가 앞으로 해결해야 할 식량 문제를 응시하며, 기술과 네트워크가 인간의 식량 문제를 매개하는 미래적 존재로 등장하는 장면을 상징합니다.
특별 오찬은 ‘대지의 끝, 환대의 시작’이라는 주제로 구성됐습니다. 한반도 남쪽 끝, 땅과 바다가 만나는 해남에서 자란 쌀과 고구마를 중심으로 마련된 오찬은 자연의 시간과 사람의 정성,
지역의 생명력이 식탁 위에서 하나의 환대로 이어지는 장면을 연출했습니다.
참석자들에게는 해남의 친환경 쌀 브랜드 YOON RICE의 유기농 쌀이 WFT26 ConfEx의 상징색인 레드, 그린, 블루 보자기에 담긴 선물로 제공됐습니다.
이는 귀한 손님과 먼 길을 떠나는 가족을 위해 음식을 보자기에 담아 전하던 한국적 환대의 정서를 현대적으로 재해석한 것입니다.
더 트리니티의 특별 전시와 오찬 구성은 그 메시지를 예술과 문화적 환대의 언어로 풀어낸 시도였습니다.
자연과 음식은 더 이상 수동적 자원이 아니라, 인간과 함께 미래를 구성하는 실존의 파트너라는 점을 현대미술의 방식으로 전했습니다.
